About Dixie Dog

Lets make it official, apply to adopt! Meet Dixie Dog, a ten-pound bundle of fun with a one-of-a-kind personality! Dixie is embracing her time to shine as she learns to open up, trust, and most importantly, have a blast. She's a bit of a mischievous adventurer—an escape artist with a strong wanderlust and a knack for slipping out the door, though her recall is impressive with the people she loves most. Dixie's curiosity is endless; she thrives on exploring her surroundings, catching rides in the car, and accompanying her people on hikes and walks. Although she's still learning leash manners, she'll happily stick with a pack. She absolutely adores toys and chew sticks, and would flourish in a home with other playful dogs since she delights in being part of a canine group. Don't be surprised if you find her napping in cozy dog beds or snuggled up on a couch with friends—Dixie knows how to relax just as much as she knows how to dash around with lightning speed. Smart and eager, Dixie is blossoming with new-found confidence and social skills. With patient, consistent guidance, she could excel in agility or other engaging activities. However, Dixie isn't fond of every person she meets and can be protective or timid, which has led to her nipping at ankles and calves in the past. Time, patience, and treats have helped her improve greatly, but she isn't the best fit for a typical family setting. Dixie will thrive with sturdy, adventurous adults who have dog experience, a good sense of humor, and lots of love to share. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
