Rory
AvailableRory is a large, mixed-breed Boxer with a short white, cream, and brindle coat. He is an adult neutered male who is up to date on vaccinations and has been treated for heartworm. He's currently located in Frankston, TX. Rory is crate trained, gentle, and prefers a calm environment. With his affectionate personality, he's looking for a family where he can feel secure.
About Rory
Rory was first spotted on a trail camera with three other dogs, hungry and searching for food. He became the first to be safely rescued. He shows classic gentle giant energy, offering bear hugs and soaking in praise, but evidence of past hardships linger—he flinches at quick hand movements and often lowers his head, though he's learning to keep it up with patient encouragement. Rory has demonstrated a strong drive to be near other dogs, once digging and climbing over fences to reach a companion. He is typically calm and prefers lounging but can display a hunting instinct, especially around wildlife and feral cats. Rory does well on a leash and generally gets along with other male dogs when they aren't dominant. He's not been tested for house training but is crate trained. After being treated for heartworm and neutered, Rory is gaining confidence and seems settled in his rescue environment. He is up for adoption in Frankston, TX, and is ready for a new beginning.
