About Ramsey
Ramsey is a 6-year-old Chiweenie/Terrier mix with a commanding yet shy personality. Rescued from a difficult start in Bakersfield, he learned to set the rules among other dogs, but around people, Ramsey is more reserved and needs time to open up. Treats are Ramsey’s favorite icebreaker; with the right snack, he’ll reward you with his attention and trust. He’s got a stubborn streak and always wants the last word, often voicing his opinion with a soft grumble or tiny bark. Getting him outside sometimes takes a nudge, but he enjoys lounging in the sun when he gets there. Fast, loud cars still make him uneasy and he’ll look to his person for comfort. Underneath his quirks is a dog who truly wants to feel safe and connected. Ramsey will do best in a quiet, adult-only home, where someone can appreciate his strong personality and help him build confidence. With patience and understanding, you’ll find a loyal companion whose affection is all the more rewarding for having earned it. What are you waiting for? Apply today!

Questions about Ramsey
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Ramsey, being a Chihuahua mix, usually does well in a calm home environment. Apartments or small homes work well as long as it’s relatively quiet and he has a safe space to retreat to.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Ramsey doesn’t require much outdoor space—a small yard or regular walks in the neighborhood suit him fine. He enjoys lounging in the sun more than running laps.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Chihuahua mixes can be good with adults but may not be the best fit for homes with young children. Ramsey’s shy, cautious temperament means he’s best suited for an adult-only household.
