About Mookie
What are you waiting for? Apply today! Mookie is a beautiful 9-year-old Pit Mix, weighing just under 80 pounds, whose gentle personality has touched the hearts of all who meet her. After spending a few years in foster care before arriving at Will County Humane Society, Mookie has patiently waited over 2.5 years for her forever family. She is sweet and playful with those she knows and trusts, though she requires slow introductions to feel comfortable with new people. Once you are in her circle, Mookie loves deeply and wholeheartedly. She always keeps her kennel clean, loves snuggling in bed, and can't resist squeaky plush toys. Walks are a highlight, and she's adored by volunteers for her friendly presence. Mookie has a talent for sunbathing and enjoys an afternoon nap in the pool. Even though she’s a big girl, she insists she’s a lap dog, and it’s difficult to resist her charming face! Mookie manages arthritis and hypothyroidism with medication, and she's committed to losing some weight to ease her joints. She should be the only dog in her new home and isn't a fan of cats, preferring a quiet household where she can be the center of attention. Shelter staff and volunteers all adore her, hoping this wonderful dog will find her long-awaited family soon. Fun fact: Mookie is a Sagittarius, proven lovers of adventure and sunshine! Let’s make it official, apply to adopt!
