Joey is a large, neutered male domestic short hair, approximately 6 years and 11 months old, currently in Shorewood, IL. He's been vaccinated and is living with FIV, so he should remain an indoor cat. Joey generally gets along well with other cats and is working on losing a bit of weight. He's looking for a home that can continue his diet and support his wellbeing.

About Joey

Joey is the laid-back companion who likes to keep things mellow. He came from animal control and has settled in without fuss, always happy to lounge beside you and take in the scene. At about 6.5 years old, Joey is a substantial, 20-pound cat on a weight loss regimen, which he'll need help maintaining in his next home. He's approachable with other cats, sometimes playful, and typically just avoids drama—if faced with a cranky feline, Joey will quietly excuse himself. Gentle and watchful, Joey enjoys affection but doesn’t demand the spotlight. Joey is FIV positive, which requires him to remain indoors and vaccinated, but this doesn’t slow him down. FIV isn’t contagious to people or dogs, and friendly cats like Joey can live with FIV-negative felines as long as everyone gets along. He needs a home where someone understands these details and will keep up with his care. As a fun fact, Joey is a Cancer—a sun sign often associated with loyalty and a love for comfort.
