About Barry
Barry comes across as a big, gentle soul with a soft spot for people and dogs alike. He's a 1-year-old, 90lb male Great Pyrenees mix—built more like a white Lab, with a sweet, squishy temperament that earned him the nickname 'Butter Bear.' Even as a young dog, Barry carries the laid-back, easygoing mood you expect from a true Pyrenees. Around new people, Barry can be a bit reserved at first but warms up to give quiet kisses and close snuggles. He did especially well with both kids and adults at a recent event, staying calm and never jumping up, preferring to lounge and soak it all in. Plenty of play with large dogs keeps him entertained, and he’s affectionate and gentle through it all. While he hasn’t lived with cats or small dogs yet, his foster family thinks he'll likely do well since there’s no hint of aggression in him. Barry is very adaptable at home, is house trained, and walks at a steady, relaxed pace on leash. He gets a little anxious on car rides, sometimes drooling as a result. Adjusting to a new place may take him some time, so patience from his future family is important. Barry is located in Garland, TX. Out-of-state adopters need to arrange transportation themselves. Barry is neutered and current on vaccinations. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
