About Truman
Click apply to start the adoption process. Truman is a Boston Terrier who is the definition of a true gentleman. At just 2 years old and weighing about 28 pounds, he has been neutered, microchipped, is fully vaccinated, and receives regular heartworm prevention to keep him happy and healthy. Born under the energetic Aries sun, he's destined for playful adventures and loyal companionship. Truman’s past was tough—found as a stray in a parking lot, underweight and uncertain about his next meal. Since then, he has blossomed into a joyful, playful companion who delights in chasing balls, gnawing on Benebones, and playing tug of war. Truman especially enjoys social environments and long walks, yet his favorite place to be is cozied up underneath a soft blanket, snuggled close by your side. When overwhelmed or overstimulated, he’ll find safety under furniture where he can regroup and relax. For Truman to truly thrive, he needs a calm and quiet home—one without young children or lots of barking dogs. He has shown some food aggression with treats, likely a result of his uncertain start, but he simply growls and won’t let go rather than bite. High prey drive and a strong desire to explore make safety a priority; Truman will need a secure yard or carefully planned safeguards to prevent escapes. He deserves patient, affectionate people who will give him the loving life he’s always deserved. Approved adopters must be willing to travel to Brevard, NC to meet and adopt him in person, ensuring the right match for this exceptional boy. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!
