About Mardi
COMING SOON!!! Mardi has been in our care for a few weeks now after a kind Samaritan in Panola County found her in need of help. She arrived with a pus-filled injury on one of her back legs. Fortunately, with antibiotics and rest, she’s healing well. Her injury was likely caused by another animal or possibly a minor brush with a car. Mardi is about 1.5 years old, very petite, and still growing her coat back after living outdoors. She is FIV/FeLV negative, but she did test positive for heartworms. Heartworms in cats are rare—there is no cure, only management. Mardi will need to remain on a lifelong flea/tick/heartworm preventive and must be kept indoors only to keep her safe and healthy. Despite everything she’s been through, she is incredibly sweet. She allows gentle handling and loves when you take things slow with her. Mardi has been spayed, microchipped, and is current on vaccinations. As her foot continues to heal, we would love your help in sharing her story so we can find her the loving family she deserves once she’s ready to go home. Apply to adopt Mardi by completing an online cat adoption application at: www.spcaeasttx.com
