About Winnie & Rizzo

They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now! Meet Winnie and Rizzo, an adorable bonded pair who will melt your heart with their love for lounging, cuddles, and gentle companionship. Winnie, a female Min Pin mix, and Rizzo, a small breed mix, have formed a deep bond—possibly even as mother and son—and must be adopted together. These two are calm, enjoy cozy downtime intertwined together, and are equally delighted by short bursts of playful energy. Their favorite activities include snuggling under blankets, playing with squeaky toys, and enjoying leisurely walks. Both dogs are small and adapt well to apartment living, as long as they get regular exercise and stimulation. They're house- and crate-trained, use their crate for quiet time and bedtime, and have grown comfortable learning to play with toys in foster care. Winnie has made significant strides since coming into rescue, blossoming into a sweet, affectionate companion, but she needs a gentle, understanding owner who can respect her boundaries, especially when it comes to her mouth. Having experienced some dental discomfort in her past, she may snap if her head is restrained or her mouth is approached unexpectedly, but this mellows as trust builds and is easily managed with patience and appropriate boundaries for people of all ages. Rizzo is a lovable, playful, and somewhat mischievous little guy with a passion for fetch and burrowing for comfort. He loves attention and cuddles, and while he can be vocal for attention, he is quickly soothed with affection or a toy in hand. Rizzo may need a tracking device as he adjusts to a new home, and a secure, reinforced yard is recommended for both, given their prey drive and love of digging. Both are spayed/neutered, fully vetted, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped, with dental care completed. They get along well with children and dogs, though Winnie may need time to warm up to larger canine companions. With their sweet temperaments, affectionate nature, and readiness to settle in, Winnie and Rizzo are waiting for a loving adopter to welcome them home together. Adoption fee applies for the pair, and they're currently fostered in Newark, OH. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
