Kids are by far her absolute favorite friends—she absolutely adores playing dress up and sharing lots of love. Lucy is working hard on her manners and commands, always eager to please, especially if treats are involved! Loving walks, she keeps pace right by your side and is content relaxing on her own, never bothering your favorite shoes. Lucy’s journey took her from the harsh streets of Houston to surprising her fosters with a litter of seven big, healthy pups. She cared for them with devotion, and now that her puppies have found their forever homes, it’s finally Lucy’s turn. Around 7 years old and spayed, Lucy recently finished heartworm treatment and stays protected on preventative medication every month. She’s a mellow gal who loves nothing more than hanging out with her person, whether chilling on the sofa or binging a favorite show. Humans, especially children, are her greatest joy and she easily gets along with mellow dogs her size. However, Lucy needs a home with no cats or small dogs. She would love a mellow canine buddy her size or would be happy as the only pup, soaking up all the affection. Having been in foster care since April 2021, she is ready for her happily ever after with a family that enjoys puppy hugs and kisses.
