About Suzy

Suzy spent over ten years as a cherished community cat in Copperas Cove before her life took a turn. She arrived at her caretaker’s door already missing one eye, but she hardly let that slow her down. A suspected snake bite later robbed her of sight in her good eye, making it unsafe for her to stay outdoors. In April, Suzy joined Shadow Cats and settled in quickly, adapting to her blindness with notable confidence. She’s learned to get around the sanctuary with little trouble and has grown attached to the catio. Every morning, Suzy insists on being let outside to her favorite spot—even scratching at the cat door if it takes too long to open. Her hunting skills haven't faded: she loves stalking her toys, preferably those filled with catnip, and parades around with them, loudly announcing her success. Suzy leans in for head scratches and will actually smile in appreciation. She often likes to nap under the cat tree by the front door, enjoying the hum of people coming and going. Suzy gets along with other cats and would thrive with an enclosed outdoor space she can safely explore. Your home could be her next sanctuary. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
