After having a lump removed that turned out to be cancerous, Lulu’s chest x-rays showed no signs of spread, and because she's now spayed and it was a low-grade tumor, hope is high for her bright future. She will need ongoing monitoring for any recurrence, but at 8 years old, this Maltese/Chihuahua mix is healthy otherwise and always ready to offer companionship once she bonds with you. While she can be cautious and protective with new people, Lulu is incredibly sweet and affectionate when she feels safe, becoming a tiny eight-pound bodyguard and loyal lapdog. Her foster experience reflects her loving nature. Initially described as "not friendly" and surrendered while wearing a muzzle, Lulu quickly proved to be endearing and eager for attention once given a chance. She has shown herself to be great with other small dogs and thrives in the company of adults, making her an ideal fit for a quiet, lower-key adult household that appreciates her spirited yet cuddly personality. Lulu enjoys being picked up, dances for attention, and will adore you with all her heart once she settles in. She's not just a pet, but a devoted little companion ready for her forever family. Our rescue operates foster-based care in Northern NJ and will set up private meet-and-greets by appointment.
