About Yogi

Start your journey together! Apply now. Meet Yogi! This wonderful boy has come so far! His story is amazing and his progress has made everyone so proud. Yogi spent the first year of his life locked away in a barn, never seeing sunlight or experiencing grass beneath his feet. With little human or canine contact, Yogi arrived very shut down, but has blossomed over many months of patient guidance. In foster care with a dedicated trainer, he has continued to thrive and reveal his true self. Yogi is incredibly sweet, gentle, and kind—impossible not to love. His foster describes him as the sweetest companion, full of youthful energy at age three and always ready for his beloved "morning run" in a fenced yard. He adores playing tug, works eagerly for praise, and seeks physical affection above all else. Yogi's loyalty runs deep; he forms strong bonds with his handler and looks for guidance as he explores the world outside his former confines. He will flourish with someone who is patient, physically active, and interested in meeting his mental and physical needs, possibly even dabbling in activities like Treibball or herding. He gets along peacefully with the resident dog in his foster home; they take turns playing and relaxing together. Yogi is working on leash training to manage his excitement with passing cars, a natural reflection of his herding instincts. He would do best in a calm home without young children, as he is still easily startled, and a secure yard is essential for his ongoing happiness and safety. If you are looking for a loyal new friend, Yogi is eager to share his love. He is vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. His adoption fee helps cover his care and medical preparation for adoption. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
