Donald is a lively, affectionate one-and-a-half-year-old Lab, possibly with some Pointer mixed in, who is seriously devoted to his people. He’s the type of dog who always wants to be by your side—he’ll happily follow you from room to room or hang out with you while you’re busy around the house or out in the yard. Donald struggles with separation anxiety, so he’s on daily medication to help—he’d much rather have someone home most of the time. Crate trained, but so clever he can break out of standard wire crates, Donald needs a tough, secure crate if he’ll be left alone. He’s bursting with energy, easily bored without enough action, and does best with lots of activity and space to run. Donald absolutely loves other dogs and enjoys meeting new canine friends. He’s cat-friendly, too, eager to play if the cat is game. He gets along well with kids and loves car rides, showing perfect manners in the back seat. Donald can jump a six-foot fence if it means getting to his people, so he needs a secure setup, ideally with acreage or a large fenced yard where he can run. He’s a loyal, smart companion—he’s even figured out how to open certain doors—and he’s longing for a family who will make plenty of room for his affectionate, faithful nature.
