About Mace

Mace is a big, good-looking Plott Hound, around two years old, who lives for hiking and trailing scents through the woods. He's full of classic Hound energy and quirks, and if you like being outdoors, he's all in. Mace will benefit from structured basic training, as he's still a young dog and needs help brushing up on his manners. He can show food guarding behaviors due to his past, so a home that understands this and can work with him respectfully is a must. When it comes to other dogs, he could probably live with a more submissive canine friend following slow introductions, but he is not a fit around cats—his prey drive is strong. He’s best placed with teens or older children who are already comfortable with large, boisterous dogs. Mace is eager to bond deeply with the right person and makes for a loyal companion if you give him consistency and patience. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
