About Laila

Click apply to start the adoption process. Meet Laila! This sweet pup was found in Todos Santos, Mexico in early 2025, and she’s estimated to have been born in August 2024, making her just over a year old now—a perfect age for an energetic companion. Laila is a medium, mixed-breed Black Mouth Cur with a beautiful short brown, white, and tan coat, weighing around 30 pounds. Laila flourished at her foster home, getting along well with the family pets and children. She enjoys playing with the other shelter dogs and cherishes every chance to sunbathe. Despite a difficult start, being found alone on the beach at only 5 months old, she’s always been outgoing and loving toward everyone she meets. Laila would be a wonderful fit for many homes in the Pacific Northwest. While she may need some guidance with potty training, her affectionate and gentle personality will easily steal your heart. Laila is ready for her forever or foster home, and qualified adopters or fosters can help her make the trip from the shelter in La Paz, Mexico to the PNW—usually within about 15 days after adoption approval. The rescue offers a flexible foster-to-adopt option so your family can ensure the perfect fit. Her adoption fee for Oregon, Washington, or California is $450 USD, which covers most vet, care, and transport costs. All dogs are spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, tested for heartworm and other diseases, and are up-to-date on flea and fecal treatment before traveling. Fun fact: As an August pup, Laila is a Leo, which means she might have an extra loving, bold personality! Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
