Big Red
AvailableBig Red is a male Pit Bull Terrier in Topeka, KS with a large frame. He’s been neutered and gets along well with other dogs and cats, though he’s still perfecting his house training. Having overcome physical scars from his rough past, Big Red is now searching for stability in a patient, understanding home.
About Big Red
Big Red spent his early life on a property crowded with other dogs, some tethered, some loose. He arrived with plenty of physical scars—those have healed—but he's still working through his emotional wounds. He’s especially cautious around men, likely from his background. If you’re a patient man, there’s a real chance to break through his tough outer layer and help show him that not all people are bad. Big Red isn’t fully comfortable on a leash yet and will need a home with a tall fence, since a 4-foot barrier is no challenge for him. Potty training is still a work in progress as well. Once Big Red settles in and feels secure, his loving side comes out; he’s a big softie at heart. He does well with other dogs and may open up faster if there’s a confident dog in the home. He has met cats and done fine with them. He doesn’t have much experience with kids yet. Big Red is looking for someone to give him a real chance and the stable life he deserves.
