COURTESY POST Meet Donte who is a super sweet, spunky and playful little guy. He is estimated to be an 8 year old chihuahua mix. He is very expressive with the little squeaky noises he makes letting you know how excited he is for his walk or just happy to be snuggling next to you. Donte does well with other dogs but really loves his people the most. He is what we call a “Velcro dog”, always wanting to be near you. He loves all people, so he isn’t picky on which human that is! Donte lives with adults and teenagers and does great with everyone. He can be very energetic when playing with his stuffies or happily snoozing away on the couch depending on the situation. Donte is good at doing his business outside quickly and coming back in. He gets cold easily, so he likes his sweaters! He is crate trained and house trained. It was noted on Donte’s vet exam that he has a heart murmur which is common among small dogs. He takes a daily pill, that is more of a preventative medication and is easy to give in his food. When you meet him, you will see that this does not stop him from living and loving life. Many smaller dogs live with heart murmurs their whole life and do just fine.
