Truman is the senior statesman of the shelter at 10 years old, spending most of his time snoozing in his bed until something fun catches his attention. Don’t let the naps fool you—when playtime hits, Truman turns into a burst of energy, running around with toys and showing off his love for fetch. Toss him a ball or a plush, and he's happier than with any treat. On warmer days, he’s all about sitting in your lap, birdwatching and soaking up any extra attention. He’s become a familiar face around the rescue, often joining volunteers on regular walks. Truman has an easy charm about him; his grin is irresistible as he trots to the door, always carrying a toy and showing off his quirky strut. While he tolerates other dogs, he prefers to play solo, and does best as an only dog in the home. He shouldn’t be placed with cats or younger children, as his enthusiasm can be a bit too much. Truman was abandoned twice before finding safety here, and while he took some time to trust, he now soaks up the comfort and support.
