About Licorice
Licorice is one of the gentlest girls at the rescue, arriving with her sister Cocoa from Fayette County in a fragile state—emaciated and battling a tough upper respiratory infection. After plenty of care and time, Licorice has truly blossomed into a sweet, affectionate companion. She loves long walks and hikes but avoids the water whenever possible. This is a dog who would happily spend her days curled up in your arms, eager for hugs and physical closeness. Licorice has a knack for basic training and happily responds to sit and stay, especially when treats are involved. Her adorable tolerance for dress-ups is matched only by her excellent manners. That said, she's still gaining confidence in home settings and could use someone patient to help her feel secure. Licorice is known to be a bit of an escape artist and seeks a home where she’s free to relax with her people, safely and securely. All she wants is a family who will hold her close and make her part of the pack. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
