About Dakota
Lets make it official, apply to adopt! Dakota—often affectionately called Kota—is a big, handsome boy who has overcome a rough beginning after being left at a truck stop with two fellow dogs. He is around 9 months old and weighs about 30 lbs. While his exact mix isn’t known, he may have hints of shepherd or husky in him, and boasts a striking tricolor (brown, black, and white) short coat. Dakota is neutered, microchipped, and fully up to date on vaccinations. He thrives around other dogs and truly comes out of his shell when he has a canine companion to play with, making it important that his forever home includes at least one other friendly dog. Playful at heart, Dakota delights in romping with dog friends and toys—especially stealing plush stuffies! He is affectionate, always ready to give kisses, and is keenly curious about his world. Dakota enjoys car rides, has learned to look out windows, and loves to run on a leash or a dog run. House trained with only a few understandable accidents, Dakota sleeps happily on the bed with his people and other dogs. He can get a little nervous about having his leash clipped on or off but is improving day by day. While he hasn’t displayed any food or other aggression, a home without cats may be best, as he’s taken to chasing and barking at them. Cuddly, sweet, and eager to please, Dakota would be a devoted friend to a family looking to welcome an energetic and loving new member. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
