This female American Pit Bull Terrier is an adult, medium-sized dog currently being cared for by Rescue Dogs Rock NYC. She is up to date on her vaccinations and is known for her gentle and shy disposition. Madonna has shown she does well with other dogs through slow introductions, but would be best in a home without cats. Her resilient spirit shines through despite her challenging past, and she would thrive in a calm, understanding environment.

About Madonna

Lets make it official, apply to adopt! Madonna is a gentle, low-energy American Pit Bull Terrier mix who was rescued in Georgia and is estimated to be about two years old at the time of intake. She is incredibly sweet and has a shy, sensitive nature, thriving best in a calm and supportive environment. Madonna bonds well with women and children but does have a fear of men and quick hand movements, so her future home should be patient and understanding, preferably with a gentle female owner. She enjoys the comfort of other dogs with slow introductions, though she is not suited for a home with cats. Madonna feels most secure eating in her crate, where she doesn't have to worry about others approaching her food. Madonna survived a difficult past, having been discovered tethered to a tree in the woods, bearing scars, wounds from a dog attack, and several broken and missing teeth—unmistakable signs of previous trauma and neglect. She has now recovered from surgery for a benign mammary tumor and is ready to find a loving family who will show her the kindness and happiness she deserves. If you are able to provide Madonna with the gentle care and stable home she needs, she will blossom into a wonderful companion. Transport support is available if you are at a distance from her foster location. Adoption is the new adventure! Ready to roll?
