About Poppy

Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started. Poppy is the kind of dog any family would be proud to call their own, described by her foster as a total sweetheart. She thrives on companionship, and her favorite moments are spent basking in the sun or napping quietly beside you on the couch. At bedtime, she loves curling up at your feet, bringing comfort and warmth. Completely housetrained, Poppy enjoys access to a fenced yard for her potty breaks. When she's ready to play or go for her daily neighborhood stroll, she lets you know with an expressive look or a bark. Poppy has some specific needs: she does not do well with smaller dogs and has shown aggression when jealous or provoked, so she should only live with dogs her size or larger. She attends doggy daycare twice weekly, where she's popular with the staff and gets along well with bigger canine companions. Although she came into care with significant separation anxiety, she's made impressive progress and can now manage a few hours alone in an indestructible crate, especially when given a peanut butter-filled Kong. Poppy yearns for a home where she can be the heart of the household and promises gratitude in the form of boundless loyalty and affection. She’s a relatively low-energy girl—content with short daily walks and bursts of play, but more than happy to just be with her family. Poppy is polite at mealtime, has no food aggression, and adores simple treats like ice cubes. She’s well socialized around medium and large dogs and is always eager to meet people, kids included. Obedient and versatile, Poppy knows basic commands and travels well in the car, where she’s happy to simply soak in the view. While she’s generally healthy and easygoing, Poppy does need her alone time in a crate, and she requires consistent leash reinforcement due to her excitement at seeing other dogs. With complete vetting and vaccinations up to date, Poppy is just waiting for you to invite her into your life and start her new chapter. Lets make it official, apply to adopt!
