Poppy is a sweet, medium-sized Labrador Retriever/Pointer mix who’s happiest napping on the couch or sunbathing in a warm patch. She’s completely house trained and respects a fenced yard for her potty breaks. Poppy will give you a look and a bark when she’s ready for a game of fetch or a neighborhood walk, though she’s just as content with brief strolls as longer adventures. With her foster’s coonhound, she plays well and enjoys doggy daycare for extra social time, but she’s not suited for homes with small dogs as she’s shown jealousy-fueled aggression toward them in the past. Bigger dogs are usually fine, but she truly prefers human company and wants to be your loyal shadow. She knows her basics—sit, shake, and come—has zero food aggression, and is always up for a treat or even an ice cube. Children don’t phase her, and she’s eager to greet guests with real warmth.
