About Dolly
Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now! Dolly is a lovable Great Dane/Labrador Retriever mix who combines the signature Dane look with a more manageable size—currently about 60 lbs., though she could use a bit more weight to reach her ideal. If you have always wanted a dog with the gentle presence of a Great Dane, but prefer a slightly smaller frame, Dolly may be the perfect match. She’s young, around 2 years old, and adjusting with remarkable resilience and curiosity to her new life of comfort and care. Dolly is learning every day and has made great progress in her foster home, especially with house training and commands. Dolly’s early years appear to have lacked security, which can make her nervous with new people and situations. She needs patience and gentle introductions, as her first reaction to strangers may be hesitation and a low growl, but with a little time and understanding, her confidence grows. She’s best suited to a home without cats or small animals, as her instinct is to chase birds and squirrels. While she gets along with her foster’s male dog, Dolly isn’t always dog-friendly, especially with other females, and she does best with a slow approach and structure when meeting other dogs. For her safety, a secure 6-foot fence is a must. Intelligent and eager to please, Dolly is a quick learner who just wants to be loved. She’s up to date on her vaccinations, spayed, and ready to find the patient, loving family she deserves. If you enjoy big-hearted dogs and are ready to help Dolly blossom into her best self, she’s waiting for you to come meet her! Make their next chapter their best one yet.
