About Grover

Tall, blonde, and with striking partially blue eyes, Grover is impossible to miss. He’s a nine-year-old Catahoula Leopard Dog and Labrador Retriever mix who’s been at the shelter for over five years. When Grover first arrived after losing the only home he knew, he was deeply anxious, but he’s grown comfortable with the staff he trusts. These days, he savors his walks, runs, and hikes, and he’s even picked up some agility skills along the way. Grover approaches new people cautiously. Give him slow, patient introductions and he’ll eventually reveal his goofy, loving nature. In his previous home, Grover lived with a small dog, but shelter staff feel he’d do best as the only dog in a quiet, low-traffic, adult-only home. He has a gentle soul but can get spooked by loud noises and sometimes forgets just how big and strong he is. Grover still believes his forever home is out there. He’s ready for someone to finally take a chance on him. Click apply to start the adoption process.
