About Duncan
Duncan is a tough cat with a history that’s been full of challenges. He survived on his own after being abandoned, learning how to fend for himself in every season. Despite all that, he never forgot the idea of a home, showing up on a porch when he needed some warmth and safety. When no one could keep him, he ended up at the rescue, facing repeated rejection and labeled unadoptable—but got a second chance when a spot opened up. He’s sharp and observant, always knowing what’s happening around the shelter. Dinner time is his favorite, and he trots up eagerly. Duncan doesn’t look for cuddles; he’s more interested in being close than being touched, though a few patient volunteers have earned brief pets on his terms. He interacts with other cats strategically and sticks to his own routines. Over time, he’s started to trust again and even greets his favorite people. Duncan’s not a cat for everyone. He’ll need an adopter who has experience with strong-willed cats and who values progress over perfection. Duncan shows up, he tries again, and with the right person, he’ll keep growing.
