Chubby
AvailableChubby is a neutered male American Staffordshire Terrier mix with a striking short brindle coat. This adult, large-sized dog is currently at Pound Hounds Res-Q and is up to date on vaccinations. He is house trained, gets along with both dogs and cats, and would be a great fit for an active home, ideally with another dog to keep him company.
About Chubby
Make their next chapter their best one yet. Chubby comes with a story of resilience and heart. Discovered wandering the streets of NYC with an injury to his neck, a compassionate stranger brought him to safety and veterinary care, ensuring he was neutered and given a shot at a better life. When she couldn't find him a permanent home, Chubby found himself at the animal care center, where his fate appeared grim—until another hero stepped up to save him from the euthanasia list. Chubby is a five-year-old, 60-pound Amstaff mix with a short brindle coat. His foster mom describes him as exuberant, social, and eager for companionship—especially the canine kind. He thrives in a home where he has another dog to play and wrestle with, and he shines brightest around people who love to stay active. Chubby is house trained, does well on leash, and adores children—but given his size and energy level, older kids would be best. Chubby's friendliness extends to both dogs and cats. He enjoys walks in the woods, car rides, and even loves being dried off after a rainy adventure. He’s not a fan of crates (they remind him of the shelter), but he does love stretching out on yoga mats instead of traditional dog beds. Toys, cuddles, and chews bring him joy, and he responds well to strong, confident owners who can channel his boundless enthusiasm. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
