About Bruno
Bruno’s story started out rough, having been found on the streets of New York and ending up overwhelmed in the shelter. The stress visibly wore on him there—he barked, chewed, and paced out of sheer anxiety, not ill will. Luckily, a couple saw the real Bruno and took him in, giving him some stability and a second chance. Now, Bruno is thriving in a home setting. He’s a playful, strong American Staffordshire Terrier mix, about 5 years old, with a sleek white and cream coat. He’s mastered house training, responds well on leash (though he pulls at times), and knows commands like stay and sit. Routines suit him; with a consistent schedule and older kids, he fits right in. He gets along well with children and shows curiosity and playfulness with friendly dogs, but will stand his ground if challenged. Cats don’t seem to interest him much—he coexists easily with them. Bruno’s energy spikes when his people are home—expect enthusiastic zoomies—followed by deep, affectionate cuddles on the couch. He loves tug-of-war, toys, and attention. Importantly, Bruno did have surgery for a past paraphimosis issue and his penis remains exposed due to that correction. While it doesn’t affect his moods or activities, he does lick after bathroom breaks. In the car, he’s relaxed. He’s a loving, loyal companion who’s looking for a family to heal his heart for good.
