About Bruno

Click apply to start the adoption process. Bruno’s journey has been filled with both challenge and hope. Found wandering the streets of New York City, he was brought into a municipal shelter where the environment quickly became overwhelming for him—his anxiety and fear were clear in his frantic digging, chewing, barking, and pacing. Rather than being a problematic dog, Bruno was reacting to immense stress and simply needed a safe space. Thanks to a compassionate couple, Bruno was given the chance to decompress and rediscover comfort. In their home, he proved himself to be a loving, spirited companion who just wanted a sense of routine. At around five years old and about 30 pounds, Bruno’s a friendly pitbull mix who’s spayed/neutered, house trained, and mostly leash trained. He eagerly greets people, is great with kids and strangers, and shows genuine curiosity and playfulness around other dogs. While he’s happy playing with other animals, he sometimes forgets his own size, but has never shown any malintent. He’s also excellent with cats, barely showing interest in them. Bruno thrives with structure—he’s accustomed to predictable mornings, walks, meals, and bedtimes, and does well in a household with a regular routine. He bursts with energy at the end of the workday, dashing around the house with joyous zoomies before settling in for cozy cuddles. He adores tug of war, brings you toys, and melts for belly rubs and affection. Car rides are a breeze, and he’s happy to relax alongside you for TV time. Bruno underwent corrective surgery for paraphimosis; while this means his external anatomy looks different, it doesn’t bother him, and he remains as happy and healthy as ever. Bruno’s foster family has truly fallen in love with him, marveling at his good manners, intelligence, and affectionate nature. If you can provide a home where Bruno can feel secure and cherished, you’ll be giving a special dog a true forever family. Start your journey together! Apply now.
