About Blanco
Blanco is about a year and a half old, and came to the New York Animal Care Center as an owner surrender. His family described him as playful and active, and even in a stressful new environment, he quickly became a favorite among volunteers and staff. After a brief, unsuccessful placement, Blanco landed with a foster who has seen him unwind and show his silly, charming side day by day. This big, strong mixed-breed guy weighs about 90lbs and is neutered. He’s house trained, crate trained, and good on leash. Blanco loves people—he’s especially great with older kids, and he gets along well with other dogs. He isn’t suited to a home with cats. For him, a family that enjoys long walks, outdoor adventures, and interactive games is the dream. He thrives with attention and activity. Tug of war is his favorite, but anything that involves being part of the action makes him happy. He does still have some puppy-like habits, including jumping and a knack for getting overexcited, so patience and consistent positive reinforcement are important. Blanco is food-motivated, resilient, and quick to adapt, but ‘baby talk’ is not his thing. Social and affectionate, he’s ready to become someone’s loyal companion. Give Blanco the family life he’s been waiting for. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
