About Gomer

Gomer showed up as a stray in New York with little background, but quickly won over shelter volunteers with his outgoing nature and love for a good walk. After landing on the At Risk List at the NYC municipal shelter, a foster stepped in just in time to save him. Gomer’s about four years old, weighing in around 60 pounds, and is a Pit/Amstaff mix. He’s neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and is fully house and crate trained. Gomer gets along well with other dogs if introductions are handled the right way and does well with adults and older kids. He’s not a match for homes with cats. When it comes to energy, Gomer is always ready for action—he’ll need an adopter who’s prepared and excited to keep up with his pace. He’s sharp, eager to please, and happiest when he has work to do or goals to accomplish. For the right person, especially one who can dedicate time and give him stimulation, Gomer will be an excellent, loyal companion. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
