About Bit O' Honey
Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now! Meet Bit O' Honey and his brother, Mary Jane Peanut Butter Twist, a pair of nocturnal buddies who spend their nights in playful adventures and their days catching up on sleep. When they're not curled up in different corners for a nap, these brothers can often be seen quietly accompanying each other around the shelter. They're known for being expert nap-takers and dedicated recluses, preferring calm and shadowy spaces during daylight hours. Once the shelter quiets down, these two spring to life, delighting in nighttime antics that keep the staff smiling at their mischief. Despite being almost a year old (celebrating birthdays in August—making them fun-loving Leos who thrive on nighttime energy!), their social skills are still a work in progress. Bit O' Honey and his brother need a patient and understanding family who is willing to give them the time and encouragement needed to build confidence and trust. These boys will thrive in a home with other cats who can help them stay active and engaged but would prefer a household without dogs or small children due to their anxiety. They are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. Both are neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, and come from a line of Manx cats, which means they may face some genetic health challenges. Bit O' Honey already manages some fecal incontinence—a common Manx trait—but is responding well to daily care with Entederm. If you're ready to open your heart and home to these charming, gentle souls, Bit O' Honey and his brother are waiting for a loving family to show them the world isn't so scary after all. Make their next chapter their best one yet.

Questions about Bit O' Honey
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Manx/Domestic Short Hair cats typically thrive in quiet indoor environments where they feel safe and have cozy spaces to retreat to. They appreciate homes with patient owners who understand their unique personalities and possible special needs.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
These cats do well as indoor cats and do not require outdoor space, although a catio or enclosed porch where they can watch the world go by is often enjoyed. Monitoring outdoor access is especially important due to the potential special needs of Manx cats.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Manx and Domestic Short Hair cats can be excellent with children if socialized early, but nervous or shy individuals, especially those with special needs, may do better in homes with older kids who understand gentle interaction.
