About Shade
Meet Shade, a 5-year-old pit bull mix with a remarkable turnaround story and an even bigger heart. Shade thrives in the company of peopleāhe lives for affection, attention, and cuddling up with his family. Heās all about the simple joys: car rides, lounging somewhere cool, and soaking up love from adults and children alike. Shade is currently in foster care alongside young kids, including a baby, and his gentle nature shines through. He lets little hands play in his water and food and takes treats kindly with no food aggression at all. While Shade shares his home with other dogs and a cat, he does best with slow, thoughtful introductions. If the vibe is right, heāll be playful and even share his toys. Fully house and kennel trained, Shade knows all his basicsāsit, down, heel, place, stay, come, no bark, wait, releaseāand will happily ākennel upā or go to bed on command. Reactivity on walks and in the car is something heās working on; he may get fixated and bark, but can redirect his focus with guidance. Nail trims are a challenge, but heās handled with vet support for now. Shade has completed weeks of professional training and comes with three free follow-up sessions at Modified K9 in Spokane, WA for his adopter. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
