Duke
AvailableDuke is a senior male Coonhound mix with a large build and short, bicolor coat. He is house trained and currently resides at Plattsburg Pound Puppies in Plattsburg, MO. His vaccinations are up to date, and while he is not neutered yet, this will be needed in the future. Duke requires ongoing medical care for heartworm and, with past Megaesophagus, he benefits from some thoughtful feeding precautions.
About Duke
Make their next chapter their best one yet. Duke is an endearing "Old Man" who, through no fault of his own, found himself looking for a new family. Nearly 9 years young, this lively Coonhound mix still boasts a spring in his step and is not shy about voicing his opinions, especially when it's time for his much-anticipated potty walks! Duke's playful spirit and boundless spunk have captured the hearts of volunteers, and now he's hoping for a family to embrace not only his zest for life but also support him as he starts heartworm treatmentโa journey that his new adopters will need to help continue. He's currently under veterinary care and up to date on vaccinations, and his future family will also need to follow through with recommended health schedules, including a neuter procedure later on. Duke also has a history of Megaesophagus, though it has not caused problems for several years, and precautions are still observed to ensure his continued well-being. This sweet senior is eager for a loving home willing to provide some extra care and plenty of affection.
