Toast is a reserved dog who’s looking for a patient adopter or family willing to help him come into his own. He’s already shown a ton of progress since arriving at the shelter. Those who know him call him a sweetheart—he can be shy and a bit headshy, but he’ll wag his tail and respond gently to a little petting. Once outside, Toast enjoys running around and letting loose in the play yard, getting more comfortable with every passing day. He’s now easy to walk, settles into a loose leash, and always takes treats gently—though still a bit tentative about new experiences. Toast handles the return to his kennel with no fuss and remains non-reactive on walks. He’s learning every day and showing more of his lighthearted, goofy side. With time and the right person, he’s bound to blossom. Toast enjoys the quiet company of other dogs; he shares his kennel peacefully and is independent yet tolerant in playgroup.
