About Vermilion
Start your journey together! Apply now. Have you ever marveled at mama kangaroos and their joeys, with the little ones nestled closely as they go about their day? Vermilion channels the spirit of these devoted mamas—she’s longing to be that close to her person, snuggled up and immersed in your world. This incredible girl has absolutely stolen the hearts of volunteers. One shared how Vermilion is calm and sweet, waiting patiently in her kennel to be leashed, and showing perfect manners even during kennel cleaning. Walking through the aisles, she calmly ignores other dogs, but once she’s out in the yard, she comes alive—joyfully inviting her kennelmate to play and then seeking out deep, affectionate cuddles with her human. She has a charming way of melting into you, making her 60-pound frame seem to shrink when she curls up for a cuddle, believing wholeheartedly she’s a lap dog. Vermilion has impressed everyone during her day trips outside the shelter, where she’s greeted college students with warmth, opened up with time, and shown how much she loves to be outdoors and active. She’s super cuddly, loves attention, and naturally attaches herself to her person, earning her the title of "Velcro dog." Friends describe her as energetic, curious, sociable, and fun—she walks well on leash, enjoys running, is housebroken, knows tricks, and can morph into a couch potato at home. Vermilion is also a playgroup regular, playing and socializing well with other dogs. While owning a real kangaroo in Arizona requires a lot of permits, with Vermilion you can have your very own sweetheart "joey" without the hassle. If you’re looking for a loving, snuggly companion, Vermilion is eager to become your new best friend. Give them the home they have been waiting for. Apply today.
