About Leroy

Leroy is part of a closely bonded pair of brothers—he and Patches have been together through everything and stick to each other like glue. Their previous owners could no longer care for them, so now they’re hoping for that final, loving home. Leroy is a small guy, about five years old, with black and cream coloring. He feels most comfortable in a home with a securely fenced yard, since walks on a leash aren’t his thing, and collars weird him out. He’s happiest running around outside or relaxing with his favorite person inside. Talk about a pro cuddle team—Leroy and Patches will curl up with each other or their humans all day. While Leroy is good with other small, non-confrontational dogs, he prefers to soak up attention, so fewer canine housemates is better. Cats are fine by him, and he’s okay being left alone for short stints. Kids need to be older (10+) since loud environments and new places can make Leroy anxious. Cage time stresses him, but he’s okay for a couple of hours if he’s got a comfy bed in a closed-off room. He’s outside and pee-pad trained—chi boys have small bladders, so the occasional miss happens. He loves treats and will even catch them right in his mouth if you toss! Leroy needs someone with patience and ideally chihuahua experience, but he’s quick to respond and loves a calm home life. Click apply to start the adoption process.
