About Candy
Candy is an 11-year-old calico who arrived at the shelter shortly before Christmas when her previous owner had to move abroad for work. The change has been difficult for her and she’s still feeling the loss, but day by day she’s adjusting. She’s always lived with another cat but really hopes to be the sole feline in her next home, as she likes having all the attention. She hasn’t been around dogs and would do best in a dog-free home. Candy isn’t a good fit for homes with small children and needs someone patient who understands that trust will take some time and care. There’s a bit of sass and spirit in Candy, especially when she feels nervous or scared, and she may lash out if she’s overwhelmed, but gentle words and treats seem to win her over. Her ideal home is calm and predictable, with a person who understands cats with complicated feelings. She is spayed and up to date on her vaccines, and she’s already been checked by a vet. Visit Pet Welfare in Eglin AFB, FL, if you think you and Candy could help each other find a little peace and comfort. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!
