About Duke

Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started. Meet Duke, previously known as Thunder, who is ready for a new beginning. After enjoying five wonderful years in a loving home, Duke returned to Pet Rescue by Judy due to unforeseen health issues in his previous family. Duke remains the loyal and affectionate companion he has always been, seeking someone to share his life with. Duke is housebroken and crate trained, thriving on routine and knowing exactly what is expected of him. It’s important that Duke be the only dog in the home, as he prefers all the attention to himself. He is strong on leash, so an adopter who can confidently manage his size will be important for daily walks and playtime. Still playful at heart, Duke loves his walks, yard time, and being involved in everything around him. He currently manages a thyroid condition with simple daily medication—just two tablets keep him feeling healthy. Duke is also doing exceptionally well on his weight-loss journey, having shed around 30 pounds and now weighing just under 100 lbs. Dedicated adopters who can help him maintain his active lifestyle and weight are essential. Because of his size and limited experience with children, Duke would do best in an adult-only home or one with older teens. Lets make it official, apply to adopt!
