Quanah is a striking, loyal Alaskan Malamute-Husky mix with years of heart and hard-won wisdom behind his handsome face. At roughly 8 and a half years old, he's weathered loss but still offers his strength and devotion in full. He lived most of his life as part of a bonded pair—when his owner could no longer care for him due to illness, Quanah shifted into foster care, where he bonded closely with two special-needs children and remained patient, gentle, and vigilant. This is a big dog with a strong sense of family. He's agile for his age, still up for hikes, snowy adventures, lakeside walks, and plenty of outdoor time. Quanah is housebroken, familiar with doggy doors, obedient, and sharp—he knows a range of basic commands, plus some sledding tricks. He thrives on routine and will do best with owners who appreciate a bit of structure and can offer active companionship. While Quanah has lived successfully with cats and other dogs (with slow introductions), he isn't suitable for homes with very small children or chickens.
