About River
Your new best friend is just one click away. River may be a shy guy, but he has big potential just waiting to shine. His early days were tough, but since joining rescue, he's been neutered, vaccinated, and offered the safety and comfort he deserves. River isn't your instant lap cat—he prefers to keep a watchful eye nearby, sometimes just inches away, as he learns what trust means. With a patient and understanding adopter, River shows promise to transform into a loving companion at his own pace. If you offer a quiet sanctuary, gentle encouragement, and the willingness to go slowly, River could be the perfect match for you. Seeing him bloom in the right home will make every patient day worthwhile. To support his journey, River’s adoption fee has been reduced, and thanks to the PetFinder Foundation, you'll save $100 (his fee is now just $50). All cats are FelV/FIV negative, up to date on vaccines and deworming, spayed/neutered, and microchipped (with lifetime registration included). Adopted pets leave with a Go Home Goody Bag featuring food, treats, toys, and a voucher for a month of Trupanion pet insurance. Fun fact: River was born under the sign of Taurus, a sign known for its gentle determination and steady loyalty—personality traits he may bring to his forever family. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
