About Lucy
They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now! Lucy is a sweet 2-year-old Great Dane weighing about 95 lbs, looking for a loving forever home. She gets along with dogs—though she can be a bit pushy, so she'd do best with a mellow canine companion—and is also comfortable around cats. Because of her large size, Lucy should join a home with children aged 5 and up who are used to being around big dogs. After being surrendered by her previous owners, Lucy arrived quite underweight and struggled with "happy tail"—her tail was so energetic it got injured and wouldn't heal, resulting in her now sporting a cute nub tail. Since her rescue, she's reached a healthy weight and received excellent care, including spaying, a gastropexy (stomach-tacking procedure), and full vaccinations. Lucy was also found to have a chicken allergy, so she thrives on a lamb and rice diet with no issues. Despite her size, Lucy believes she’s a lap dog and loves nothing more than being the center of attention. Lucy is heartworm negative, microchipped, and ready for a new beginning. Her future family will need to understand her gentle giant nature and provide the love she’s been waiting for. Adoption is the new adventure! Ready to roll?

Questions about Lucy
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Great Danes thrive in homes with plenty of space, ideally those with a yard. They enjoy being part of the family and are best suited for environments where they have room to stretch out and be comfortable.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
While Great Danes do appreciate having a fenced yard, they are surprisingly adaptable and can live in apartments as long as they receive regular walks and exercise. Access to outdoor space helps meet their activity needs.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Great Danes are usually gentle and patient with children. However, due to their large size, supervision is recommended, especially with smaller kids, to prevent accidental knocks.
