About Mayor
Mayor is a big orange tabby with an unusual past. He spent years outdoors fending for himself and always sounded congestedāuntil he hopped into a truck during a TNR event and asked for help. Rescue efforts revealed a massive polyp in his airway, now fully removed, leaving him healthier than ever. He soaks up attention and gladly accepts all the pets you have to give. Mayor will likely get along just fine with other cats and cat-friendly dogs. He is FIV positive, but this doesn't stop him from living a normal, healthy life. FIV is not contagious to people or dogs, and Mayor can live safely with FIV-negative cats as long as everyone gets along. Mayor is neutered, has received all appropriate vaccines, and has tested negative for feline leukemia. He is microchipped and house trained. Regular annual vet visits are recommended, but he does not require special medication or care beyond what any other cat needs. The rescue operates entirely through foster homes in the Nottingham, MD area. Approved applications are required prior to arranging visits with Mayor. Click apply to start the adoption process.
