About Rio
Rio is pure fun—a big, goofy German Longhaired Pointer with plenty of skills and a real sense of humor. He grew up as a 'COVID pup,' so he missed out on being around other animals, but he absolutely loves children and needs to live in a home with kids. Having been raised with a 6- and 4-year-old, he misses his little humans deeply. Rio’s family had no choice but to move overseas with the military, landing him in rescue, but he still clearly craves that family energy. At about 4 years old and 80 pounds, Rio is past his wild puppy phase but has loads of playful spirit. He knows commands in both English and Korean—sit, paw, lay down, play dead—and won't hesitate to show off for a good laugh. He’s happiest in a home with kids of any age and a yard or regular long walks. Rio should be the only pet, but you’ll never be bored with him around. Pampered Paws Rescue is open to foster-to-adopt so Rio and his new crew can be sure it’s a fit. Your new best friend is just one click away.
