About Shane

Meet Shane, a truly special cat who embodies resilience and affection. This medium-sized, adult male Domestic Short Hair has gone through so much, yet remains incredibly loving. Shane arrived at the Sanctuary in August 2020 as part of a large family that suffered from pan Leuk, a devastating illness. While many of his family members didn't survive, Shane and a few others did, defying the odds. After battling FIP, a non-contagious genetic infection, Shane emerged as a playful and sweet companion. He now lives in the main adoption area, where he waits eagerly for attention. He’s known to melt hearts with his gentle nature, often seeking scratches and cuddles. Shane loves to nuzzle up close, and you'll often find him trying to get your attention, even playfully nibbling your fingers if you've overlooked him for too long. Though Shane has been adopted twice, he struggled to adapt to home life after spending so long in the Sanctuary. He will need time and patience to feel secure in a new environment. His foster parents will need to provide a calm, understanding space for him to adjust. Despite his challenges, Shane truly deserves a loving home. If you're looking for a companion full of heart, he could be the one for you. Every day is a new adventure for this affectionate boy! What are you waiting for? Apply today!
