This pair are medium-sized Australian Cattle Dog / Blue Heeler mixes, both about 2 years old and bonded closely with each other. Rico, a neutered male, is up to date on his shots and preventative care, as is Halo, the spayed female. Both dogs enjoy a playful, energetic lifestyle and are currently located at Ozark Haven Rescue. Halo especially must remain on year-round heartworm preventative. They thrive with access to a securely fenced yard, and their new family should be committed to their ongoing health care and exercise needs.

About Rico And Halo

Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started. Rico and Halo are inseparable friends searching for a forever home together. Having bonded in foster care, their companionship helps them both thrive as energetic and playful dogs. Rico, around 2 years old, was rescued as a stray and is now neutered, heartworm negative (with a need for committed preventative care), and fully up to date on all necessary medications. He loves playing frisbee, is fantastic at fetch, learns quickly, and enjoys car rides. His smart, energetic nature is complimented by his love of toys and positive attitude once he gets to know other dogs. Rico uses a doggy door with ease and is good on leash, although initial meetings with new dogs can make him a bit vocal. Halo, who resembles a larger Boston Terrier in appearance, is roughly Rico’s age and stands just over 15 inches at the shoulder while weighing about 70 pounds. She arrived with significant skin issues and previously untreated heartworm, but thanks to attentive care and treatment, she is now healthy and heartworm negative—though she must remain on preventative medication year-round. Halo is spayed and up to date on all her health needs. She loves belly rubs, toys, and chews, with a special fondness for balls and tough, durable toys. Her playstyle with Rico is spirited, and her curiosity makes a secure, fenced yard essential. Their ideal home is one without other dogs, cats, or small children, matched with a dog-savvy owner ready to provide daily active playtime. Commitment to ongoing health needs (especially heartworm prevention for Halo) and plenty of safe room to run are a must. Rico and Halo are waiting for a loving adopter who understands the joy two best friends can bring! They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!
