About Moxie Melus

Moxie Melus is a special cat who has had quite a journey. Found as a community cat in Troy, she was not spayed until she came into our care. Now, at around 8.5 years old, Moxie has been spayed and fully vetted, but she's still navigating her world with limited eyesight. Her blindness makes her a bit defensive; when startled, she might hiss and swipe, all stemming from her difficulty seeing what’s around her. Moxie prefers to find a cozy, elevated spot to observe her surroundings, only stepping out to use her litter box or for meals. Despite her cantankerous nature, there's a sweet spirit within her. Moxie requires a very special home, ideally one with experienced caregivers who can give her the space and time she needs to feel safe. Moving to a new environment will likely take several months for her to adjust; patience is key with Moxie. She's not available for general adoption but needs someone who understands her unique needs. Ready to give Moxie the loving home she deserves?
