About Peg

Peg is about 2-3 years old and came into rescue as a pregnant stray. She raised her six puppies and is now looking for her own spot to settle in. At home, Peg is good-natured with her family and really enjoys playing with other dogs—she gets along well with her fur siblings in the foster's fenced yard. She warms up slowly to new visitors at home and tends to bark and keep her distance at first, preferring a more predictable household where people aren’t coming and going frequently. Out in public though, Peg quickly becomes friendly and welcomes new people. She’s protective of her home turf but has an easygoing nature when away from home. Peg is making good progress with both house training and crate training, though she’ll need some patience and a refresher once she adjusts to a new routine. She can get into a bit of mischief if left bored and uncrated, so some structure and activity will suit her. While she barks at strangers in the home, she’s generally not a noisy dog. Peg’s best fit will be a home ready for a smart, playful, affectionate companion who appreciates routine and security. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
