About Gracie Mae

Gracie Mae is a six-year-old Black Labrador Retriever mix who has bounced back from some pretty tough circumstances. Before coming into care, she lived her life outdoors, neglected and in rough shape. She was underweight, covered in fleas, and had an old leg injury that left her with a deformed front leg—but none of that holds her back. Gracie runs, plays, and enjoys life just like any other dog. She’s a compact pup at around 25 lbs, with a short black coat, and she thrives on human attention. Gracie bonds closely with her people and does well with kids. She tends to prefer women but can warm up to patient, calm men; loud voices can make her nervous. Gracie gets along well with other dogs, though she prefers not to share her toys, so playtime with toys should be separate if other dogs are involved. She’s not a good fit for homes with cats. Gracie Mae is both potty and kennel trained and rides nicely in the car. She eats from an elevated and slow-feed bowl and may need leash training. Her energy is moderate—she loves chasing squeaky toys and curling up for cuddles when playtime’s over. Gracie Mae just wants a stable, loving home where she’ll get the care she deserves.
