About Kacie

Kacie—also known as Tonks and Gracie—is back and hoping to find a true forever home this time around. She’s a one-year-old shepherd, cattle dog, and husky mix with a medium coat that’s a blend of white, cream, tan, and black. Kacie has been fully vetted and is spayed. What stands out most about her is that she craves being close to her people and thrives in their company. But she’s a dog who needs to be the only animal in the household—other dogs and cats just aren’t her style. She tears into her toys with gusto and still displays some classic puppy chewing behavior, so expect to provide plenty of tough chew toys. Walks are a highlight for her, and she enjoys every outing. She’s crate trained and house trained, too. Because of her breed mix and energy, Kacie requires a physically capable, experienced, and active adopter who can provide both structure and outlets for her youthful energy. She needs a secure, fenced yard and should go to a home without children, as she really shines when she can be the center of your universe. Currently, Kacie is enrolled in a board-and-train program with Rosie, who will support her adopter through the transition and training long after adoption. This kind of continuity will help Kacie continue on her path to being an outstanding companion. Ready to give Kacie the home she deserves? Start your journey together! Apply now.

Questions about Kacie

  • How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?

As a large, energetic mix, Kacie will thrive in an environment with a spacious, secure yard so she can run, explore, and play daily.

  • Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?

Shepherd and husky mixes can sometimes do well with children, but Kacie specifically should be in a home without kids, where she can soak up all the attention.
