She needs a secure environment—think no open balconies—and a helping hand at first to learn a new layout, but she adapts quickly once settled. Lily gets along with most dogs as long as they respect her space around food and toys. She will set her boundaries if needed, but as long as others mind them, there are no issues. Small animals are not a match for Lily; her prey drive still runs strong, so she should not share space with them. Like many cattle dogs, Lily may communicate with her mouth—especially when startled—so she is muzzled for vet visits, and unexpected touches can worry her. She does best when spoken to before being approached, and she comes reliably when called. She enjoys pets as long as she knows they're coming. At 36 lbs, this red and white, medium-coated, spayed girl has had a thorough vet workup, including dental and ophthalmology care. She is on daily eye drops and arthritis medication. Lily has a couple of bites in her past, typically due to her blindness and being startled, so she is looking for an adult-only home with someone who understands her needs and boundaries.
